The sacrifice of our
Nebraskan Veterans, Servicemen and Servicewomen is
the essence of our freedom. As a mother of a
deployed soldier and a sister of several brothers
who formally served in the military, I want to
ensure them the healthcare and education promised
when they enlisted to protect this country, will be
there for them. Many sacrifices are being made today
in immediate and extended families. It is our duty
as those who benefit from these sacrifices to
provide assurances that these promises will be
fulfilled. Support services for the transition of
our soldiers to civilian life from military service
and their families should never be skimped upon. As
a legislator I would also like to propose military
personalized license plates, with the proceeds to go
to a fund assisting military cemeteries and
memorials.
